Cancer stem cell spheroids platform

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are thought to be responsible for tumor recurrence and resistance to chemotherapy, but CSC-related research and drug development have been hampered by the limited supply of diverse, patient-derived CSCs. ToolBio’s proprietary spheroid culture platform enables facile preparation of CSC spheroids by simply culturing cancer cells on a specific polymer-coated matrix for days (see figure below). The resulting CSC spheroids show greatly enhanced xenograft tumor forming ability and drug resistance and thus can be used for basic cancer research and drug screening.
